To celebrate London's 150th Birthday, Investing in Children, in partnership with the London Public Library and The Londoner, held a Sesquicentennial Scavenger Hunt. The contest included two parts, one designed for children and families, and the other for school classes. Through their participation in this contest, families and children had the opportunity to learn about the history of London and the unique features and attractions the city has to offer.

Families were asked to identify the location or landmark in each of 30 pictures. Classrooms had to to identify the pictures, and then answer trivia questions relating to each picture. The contest was published as a special spread in The Londoner, the original photographs were hung at the Central Library, and the photos and entry form were available on our website.

The winner of the Family Challenge was Rita Glover and family, who received a digital camera from Black's Westmount. The winner of the Classroom Challenge was the Grade 4/5 class of Graciela de Lasa and Karen Hatch from at Jeanne Sauvé. The students received a pizza party from Domino's Pizza and each received a single-use camera from Black's Westmount.
