London Gets Mugged 5 was held at the Jonathon Bancroft-Snell Gallery this February 2. Mugs hand painted by notable Londoners were on display and up for auction, all in support of literacy. Thank you to our talented muggers, many guests, Jeff Leeson for emceeing the event, our hosts at Jonathon Bancroft-Snell Gallery and Michael Buck for the wine tasting.

Congratulations to the 2012 People’s Choice Award winner Al Desrochers from SNAP London.

All proceeds from London Gets Mugged will support our projects in 2012-13.

A big thank you to Hot Moms for Charity for making Investing in Children the recipient of funds raised from the sale of their 2012 calendar. All proceeds are being directed towards programs in 2012-13.

On Saturday, January 28, Investing in Children participated in the FUN-tastic Community Celebration of National Family Literacy Day at the London Public Library. Around 240 families or 700 people joined in on the celebration!

Kids who visited our booth put their counting and strategy skills to the test with the game of Mancala. Families also enjoyed music, crafts, stories, face painting and more and learned new ways of developing literacy outside of the classroom.

Thank you to our volunteers from Save the Children Club at Western for helping us with the event.   

Investing in Children is now accepting applications for Book Camp London on August 13-17, 2012 at the London Public Library. To register your child, please download and complete the Registration Package.
