A Message from the
Executive Director
We would like to take this opportunity
to wish everyone a safe summer and hopefully you can enjoy
some well-deserved holidays. We share with you in this emailer
some of our recent successes, information about our upcoming
Book Camp London, and summer fun learning activities to enjoy
with your children. We will be busy over the summer months
planning for our coming year including a new Art Project with
the Wortley Village Association.
Thank you to everyone for your continued
support over the past year. I would also like to thank our
volunteers for their tireless work and the staff here at Investing
in Children for their dedication and passion to improving
the lives of children and their families in our community.
Enjoy your summer!
Sincerely,
Anita Gilvesy
Executive Director
Community
Service Clubs

Investing in Children's Community
Service Clubs at Northbrae Public School, Princess Elizabeth
Public School and Holy Family Catholic School recently created
and sold a healthy recipes cook book, filled with recipes
created by the students.
The Holy Family Community Service Club
welcomed Jill and Victoria from the Children's Health Foundation
to receive the proceeds from the sale and to share more information
about the Children's Hospital and its services with the students.
Congratulations to the Community
Service Club and to volunteer supervisor Susan McLean for
their hard work and community spirit.
Fun at the Frog

Investing in Children celebrated
our 6th annual summer celebration, Fun at the Frog on June
18. It was a tremendous evening of fun and conversation, highlighted
by a live fiddling performance, and our best collection of
live and silent auction prizes yet.
Thank you to everyone who donated,
attended or supported the event, including our sponsors Quixtar
Canada and Scholar's Choice. Proceeds from Fun at the Frog
will help support Investing in Children's projects in 2008-09.
Special Olympics

Investing in Children was proud
to once again partner with the Thames Valley District School
Board and Special Olympics Ontario on the annual TVDSB Track
and Field Event for Special Olympic Athletes.
Thank you to all of the volunteers
and community partners who helped support the event.
